2012 Ad Journal
The 2012 MSA Tournament Ad Journal forms are now available for your use. Here is a hi-level summary of this years programs including several changes:
- This year we will produce the Ad Journal in a NEW electronic format and it will be hosted on MSA website for 10 months
- All ads will be displayed in COLOR
- We will be able to share it with a much broader audience
- Fundraising levels remain the same à $150 (1 child), $250 (2 children), $350 (3 children)
- Deadline for submission à July 23, 2012
- Checks should be made payable to --> MSA Boosters, Inc
- New Team Fundraising Program --> Goal is to increase our ad contributions above the minimum requirements for the benefit of MSA and the teams. We are looking to cost share funds raised over and above the minimum with the teams. Here is a quick summary of how this will work -- each family needs to fundraise additional ads over and above the minimum levels stated above. If all families on a team provide additional ads, the team gets 50% of the ad value based on the lowest family contribution level on the additional ads. Funds can be used towards additional team training and tournament costs for the Fall 2012/Spring 2013 season.
- Example --> a team of 15, of which 14 players get an extra ¼ page ad, 1 player gets an extra business card. Team will get 50% of the lowest value in this case the business card value -- $75 per BC x 15 players x 50% = $562.50.
- Example --> a team of 15, of which 14 players get an extra ¼ page ad, 1 player gets 2 extra business cards (2 BC are same value as one ¼ page). Team will get 50% of the lowest value thus $150 per ¼ page ad x 15 players x 50% = $1,125.00
Please keep in mind that this requirement is a family commitment and you will not be impacted if you switch teams next year. Any ads sold will follow you to your new team next year. We encourage each family not only to meet but to try to exceed their fundraising requirement as it will only benefit the program and the kids further in the form of training, tournaments, equipment and fields. This is the clubs only major fund raiser of the year. Lets all work hard to make it a big success.
I encourage all of you to reach out to local business in the area as well as businesses that you deal with directly (dry cleaners, restaurants, car dealerships, landscapers, dentists, accountants, lawyers, mechanics, mortgage brokers, etc.......). This is a way to avoid some personal cost and with some effort it can be achieved. The ad rates for 2012 have remained the same as 2011. The preferred method to submit an ad is electronic in our word template. Many vendors ads or family ads are prepared on the computer. Last year we were able to gather around 95% of the ads electronically which allowed us to put the final journal together in a more efficient manner and produced a clearer and cleaner ad for our vendors. .
