Both games will be played at the Manalapan Recreation Center Field K (Turf Field)

RICARDO PORTILLO REFEREE PROTECTION RULE

Ricardo Portillo, a soccer referee in Utah, died as a result of being punched by a player after he issued the player a yellow card. In honor of Ricardo Portillo we have enacted the following rule.

Ricardo Portillo Referee Protection Rule:

Effective May 5, 2013, the MSA has instituted a no tolerance policy with regard to the conduct of those involved in a game towards any referee. As such, any parent, coach or player who is thrown out of a game for verbally or physically intimidating, abusing or assaulting any referee will be banned from watching, coaching or playing in the MSA indefinitely. The party breaking this Portillo Rule will have the opportunity to address the disciplinary committee should they seek that.

Campioni Soccer

Campioni Soccer has been proud to serve the Marlboro Soccer Association for 13 years, since 2000. We have worked together to build a program that is now full of Jags, Maps and EDP teams. The program has seen both girls and boys teams win the NJ National State cup. We are also proud to be the main MSA Recreation partner and develop players through our system: which incorporates Pre-K, Pee Wee and U7 tournament teams.

Through those years we have been fortunate to help and develop players at different levels including: Travel, High school, College and those who are now playing in the MLS.

Red Bulls Training

The Marlboro Soccer Association Recreation Soccer Program is pleased to partner with the New York Red Bulls for recreation soccer training for players 7 to 13 years old.

This 8 week program will focus on the mastery of ball skills. Technical topics such as dribbling, passing, receiving, turning and shooting will be the focus.
